I
Long ago I had a dream: A goddess told me to find the sea, To leave my home to travel far And cross rivers, mountains, and leas.
The morning I left the gates of my town (Many of my loved ones were all gathered around) I tore from my chest my beating heart And tossed it to the ground.
My loved ones got on their knees
And begged for me please to stay. But I lifted my rags from their clenching hands And made my fateful way.
Barefoot I traveled over ground so rough My soles grew thick like cakes. &n
